Join us for an afternoon of talks by four leading photography editors, writers and publishers sharing their insightful knowledge and advice. Covering photography and journalism online and in print.
Speakers
Max Ferguson
Max is a photographer, writer and curator. He is the Founding Editor of Splash & Grab Magazine, the Director of Photography of Port Magazine & Port Creative and a freelance Photo Editor at the Financial Times Weekend Magazine. In 2014 his photographs on the Rwandan genocide were exhibited in a solo show entitled Ndi Umunyarwanda / We Are Rwandan. He has curated photography and contemporary art exhibitions while working with contemporary art galleries in London.
Izabela Radwanska Zhang
Izabela is the assistant editor of the British Journal of Photography, a position she earned through interning at the magazine after graduating from City University London with an MA in Magazine Journalism. As a freelance journalist, she has also worked for The Independent, Disegno Magazine and Press Association.
Max Barnett
Max is a Photographer, Magazine Editor, and Image Editor based in London, graduating with a BA in Photographic Arts at the University of Westminster. While studying he developed a concept for a new magazine, which later became PYLOT Magazine. PYLOT is an all analogue fashion and arts magazine with zero beauty retouching, and was officially launched in 2014 after Max had assembled a small team who worked together to create the magazine’s identity. He currently works as the Editor-in-Chief and Creative Director.
Alongside PYLOT Max has established a career as a freelance photographer and has worked with clients such as: FUJIFILM, Kodak, Nike and ASOS.
Lola Paprocka
Lola is a photographer, curator and publisher. Her work has been exhibited in London, Melbourne, New York and Paris alongside being published in The British Journal of Photography, Dazed & Confused, FT and i-D.
She also runs Palm Studios, a publishing house and online platform showcasing the work of artists and photographers worldwide. In 2016 she was the recipient of the Unveil’d Photobook award for her book Blokovi: Novi Beograd.
